Sarah SCHLERNITZAUER

My name is Sarah, I’m 19 and I’m in my second year at IPSA, after a Baccalauréat in the Euro-German section in Thionville. I discovered the school during an Open Day and then a Discovery Day, and I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and the exchanges with the students.

What fascinates me about aerospace is the balance between rigor and creativity, and the ability of these sectors to constantly push back the boundaries. At IPSA, the atmosphere is friendly and non-competitive, and I quickly found my place.

A highlight for me was creating a video game in Python in my first year. It was a real challenge, but also a source of great pride. I’m also a member of Aéro IPSA, the astro-modeling association, where I’m now vice-secretary. We design experimental rockets for C’Space, and I’ve learned an enormous amount both technically and in terms of team management.

I don’t yet know exactly what career I’ll be aiming for after school, but I’m very attracted to space, especially exploration missions or debris recovery.

And if a student is hesitating about joining IPSA? I’d tell them to go for it! Even without immediate passion, it can be born here.
