The aerospace and aviation industries encompass companies involved in the design, construction, and marketing of aircraft (planes, helicopters, drones) and spacecraft (space vehicles, launchers, satellites). The French aerospace, space, and defense electronics industry ranks first in Europe.

Career Integration Survey for the 2023 Engineering Class

  • 100% of the students in the 2023 class who were job hunting secured a position before the end of their internship or within two months following the completion of their internship.
  • 5% of graduates are pursuing a PhD.
  • 3% are continuing their studies.
  • 8% are employed abroad.
  • 1 in 2 graduates works in the aerospace or aviation industry, and 35% through consulting firms. In total, 85% of graduates are employed in the aerospace sector (compared to 65% last year).
  • The top recruiters include: Safran (10%), Thales (7%), Airbus (6%), Air France (5%).
  • Geographical distribution: 60% in Île-de-France, 30% in Occitanie, and 6% in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA).

The median salary for the 2023 Engineering class is 42 000€.

Preferred Sectors and Careers for IPSA Graduates

The majority of the class works in the aerospace and air transport sector (49%), with 16% in the space industry. 8% are employed in the engineering and business services sector. A portion of the graduates works in industries such as defense (10%), automotive, rail, and naval sectors (4%), which remain attractive fields for our alumni. 3% are employed in the energy sector, 4% in IT, and 1% in electronics and telecommunications.

In terms of job roles, 40% of IPSA graduates start their careers in R&D, design, or engineering departments. 11% work in IT, 13% are employed in industry, production, and methods. 6% are involved in operations, management, and organization, while 5% work in maintenance. 4% are engaged in quality, certification, safety, and environmental roles, 4% in testing services, and 3% in marketing and sales services.
