IPSA is a 5-year graduate school (Equivalent to an MSc) in Paris and Toulouse, specializing in Aeronautical and Space Engineering. There are 3 years of the Bachelor Cycle and 2 years of the Master cycle. With more than 950 students at IPSA, and around 150 graduates per year.
At IPSA, you will acquire a strong knowledge in Sciences and an effective approach to of engineering work (aeronautics, engines, mechanics, IT Systems, embedded systems, mechatronics and electronics). At the same time, you will strengthen your communication skills (human resources, French and English and quality management) while keeping in close contact with the French industrial environment through required internships and industrial projects.
During the five years of graduate education at IPSA, internships are highly encouraged in the first two years, while they are obligatory in the final three years.
IPSA has 100 professors who are largely drawn from positions in the industrial field. The classrooms and computers rooms are open 24h/day. There are ten laboratories at IPSA, comprised of research, electronics, and mechanics laboratories.
IPSA actively encourages student exchange and international partnerships. An exchange agreement has existed between IPSA and the University Laval in Canada since 2003, and from 2011 a semester abroad will be compulsory for all third year students. Internships abroad are also encouraged from the first year.
Since 2007 more than 40 students have participated in Double Diploma Programmes with The Shenyang Institute of Aeronautical Engineering in China, the University of Cranfield in the United Kingdom and the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.
This year new agreements have been signed with two renown Institutes in Russie, the MIPT ‘Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology’ and the MAI ‘Moscow Aviation Institute’. In addition to student exchange programmes, groups of students may spend one semester studying courses in English at these instiutions and similar programmes are in development with the University of California San Diego, USA, and the Kumagaru College of Technology in India.
ERASMUS students who wish to study at IPSA should contact the International Office at IPSA or their home University for the Erasmus Incoming Student Application Form, ECTS learning Agreement and Transcript of Records. These documents should be sent to the IPSA International Department by the end of June.
Competence in the English language is compulsory as students prepare to take the TOEIC Exam, and students also have the option to study Chinese and Russian in specially organized classes as well as Italian, German and Spanish via the free E-Learning system provided to students.
